Renault: successful trial of autonomous miniBuses
(CercleFinance.com) - Renault Group announces the success, as part of its autonomous vehicle strategy, of an open-road experiment launched in May 2024 with its partner WeRide, with two autonomous miniBuses circulating during the Roland-Garros tennis internationals.
With 1,000 km covered and almost 700 people transported, this first full-scale test demonstrated the maturity of the technology as well as the relevance of this people-transport solution, the automaker says. Following this convincing trial, many mobility players (local authorities, transport operators, private site managers, etc.) have shown their interest in operating this solution in their territories. New trials are already underway across Europe, in Zurich (Switzerland), Valence (France) and Barcelona (Spain). Several others will be announced very shortly, Renault adds.
