Lockheed Martin: new transmission for the S-92
(CercleFinance.com) - Lockheed Martin reports that its Sikorsky subsidiary has set 'a new standard in reliability and safety' for commercial helicopters with the new Phase IV gearbox for the S-92.
Featuring an auxiliary lubrication system activated in the event of a loss of oil pressure, this gearbox enables operators to continue flying in complete safety. Validated by over 800 hours of testing, it is scheduled for FAA certification in 2025.
