Nokia: progress towards cellular network on the Moon
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia says it has successfully delivered the first cellular network on the Moon as part of Intuitive Machines' IM-2 mission to the lunar south pole region, part of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services initiative.
The Finnish network equipment supplier has successfully validated key aspects of network operation, including the transmission of operational data to Intuitive Machines' ground station and Nokia's mission control center on Earth. Nokia has also activated several components of the communications solution.
