Ericsson: modernization of UNITEL network in Angola
(CercleFinance.com) - UNITEL, the Angolan telecommunications company, has announced that the modernization of its network, carried out in collaboration with Ericsson, will strengthen connectivity in Angola by offering enhanced mobile broadband and fixed wireless access services, fostering economic growth and supporting low-latency, high-speed applications.
Ericsson has transformed UNITEL's core network by integrating solutions such as Core 5G dual-mode, IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and Cloud Native infrastructure, enabling the integration of 4G and 5G technologies on a single platform.
Successful data call tests on a 5G Standalone network (5G SA) mark a key milestone for UNITEL, which will now be able to offer innovative voice and data services.
