Bp: completes drilling of well in offshore Egypt

(CercleFinance.com) - bp announces that drilling of the El Fayoum-5 well, located in the North Alexandria offshore concession in Egypt, has been completed.


This latest well completes a four-site drilling campaign in the West Nile Delta.

Drilled with the Valaris DS-12 rig, it started on February 14, 2025 and encountered four Messinian gas reservoirs, with a total sand thickness of 50 meters at a depth of 2,900 meters.

bp plans to link this discovery to its West Nile Delta gas development. This is its second recent discovery, following the El King-2 well.
