Equinor: discovers 19m-44m barrels in Norwegian Sea

(CercleFinance.com) - Equinor - alongside its partners, Okea and Pandion Energy - announces the discovery of gas and condensate in the Norwegian Sea, in the Mistral Sør exploration well.


Initial estimates indicate that the discovery contains between 3 and 7 million standard cubic metres (Sm³) of recoverable oil equivalent, equivalent to between 19m and 44m barrels.

Equinor points out that this discovery has the advantage of being located in an area where gas infrastructure is already in place.

As a result, the partners consider this to be a commercially viable discovery and are considering a tie-in to existing infrastructure or development in conjunction with other discoveries in the region.
