Uber: Waymo's 100% autonomous service integrated in Austin

(CercleFinance.com) - Uber announced on Tuesday that it would offer users of its VTC application the opportunity to benefit from the 100% autonomous service that Waymo has set up in Austin (Texas).


The Californian group explains that, for the moment, its offer concerns journeys to be made in a Jaguar I-Pace electric vehicle within a 95 m2 area around the city, but that this radius of action is set to increase in the future.

Uber adds that it plans to include Waymo's autonomous driving experience in Atlanta in the near future.

Since its beginnings as Google's driverless car project in 2009, Waymo is now available in the cities of San Francisco, Phoenix, Los Angeles and Austin.

The company claims to have driven tens of millions of miles autonomously on public roads and tens of billions of miles in simulations, across more than 13 US states.
