NRJ Group: end of NRJ12 on DTT and safeguard plan

(CercleFinance.com) - NRJ GROUP announces that following the Conseil d'Etat's decision to reject the appeal against ARCOM, NRJ 12 will lose its authorization to broadcast on DTT as of March 1, 2025.


According to the group, this decision jeopardizes the economic viability of the NRJ 12 channel, leading to a significant drop in its audience and an estimated loss of 80% of its sales, which will prevent it from covering its fixed costs.

As a result, NRJ GROUP asserts that it may be forced to cease operating NRJ 12, and is considering a sale of CHERIE 25, the group's second DTT channel.

The group is exploring various strategic options, and is considering a plan to safeguard jobs, with a reduction in Television division sales of between 50 and 55 million euros by 2025.

NRJ GROUP is approaching this new phase with more determination than ever. With a cash position of over 350 million euros at the end of December 2024, the Group will seek to strengthen its Radio and Broadcasting divisions, its diversification and its innovation to support its future growth', concludes the group.
