Walmart: EPS up 10% in Q4

(CercleFinance.com) - Walmart reported adjusted EPS up 10% to $0.
66 for its fourth fiscal quarter, with adjusted operating profit up 9.4% to $7.9 billion excluding currency effects, and gross margin up 0.5 points to 23.9%.

At $180.6 billion, sales were up 4.1% (+5.3% at constant exchange rates), including a 4.6% rise in comparable sales (excluding fuel) for Walmart US, boosted by around 2.9 points from online sales.

For the full year to the end of January, it achieved adjusted EPS of $2.51, as well as growth at constant exchange rates of 9.7% for adjusted operating profit and 5.6% for sales, thus exceeding its targets set three months ago.

For the year ahead, the world's number one retailer anticipates adjusted EPS of between $2.50 and $2.60, as well as growth at constant exchange rates of 3.5% to 5.5% for adjusted operating profit and 3% to 4% for sales.
