Equinor: fined 4 ME by the CRE

(CercleFinance.com) - Equinor has announced that the French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) has fined it 4 million euros for two breaches of REMIT (the European regulation designed to guarantee the integrity and transparency of energy markets) when reserving annual gas transmission capacity in 2019 and 2020.


CRE accused Equinor of colluding with Danske Commodities by reserving more than the maximum authorized volume. Danske Commodities, which has also been fined €8 million, will appeal.

Irene Rummelhoff, Executive Vice President of Equinor, contests these accusations and asserts that Equinor complied with the rules. The case will be brought before the Conseil d'Etat.
