BT: sells Irish operations for â?¬22 million
(CercleFinance.com) - BT announces the sale of its wholesale and enterprise business in Ireland to Speed Fibre Group for an enterprise value of €22 million.
The transaction, subject to regulatory approvals, is expected to close in 2025. The deal includes BT Communications Ireland Ltd's (BTCIL) domestic network, more than 400 customers and associated teams, but excludes multinational customers, certain services and the recently divested data center business. A long-term partnership will enable BT and Speed Fibre Group to exchange connectivity services. This acquisition will strengthen Speed Fibre Group's position in the Irish telecommunications market.
