Vinci: E183m contract for Le Havre port
(CercleFinance.com) - Vinci has announced that Haropa Port, France's leading port, has awarded the contract to a consortium comprising Vinci Construction (62%) - through its subsidiary Terélian (leader) - and DEME (38%) - a Belgian company in which VINCI holds a 12.
1% stake - to build the "La Chatière" river access to Port 2000 in Le Havre (Seine-Maritime).
Worth E183m, this project involves the construction of a 1,800-metre-long river channel protected by a dyke.
In 2027, it will put Port 2000 in direct communication with the Seine basin, the largest employment and consumption area in France.
Vinci says that direct river access to the port will help to decarbonise the logistics chain by securing and increasing the number of containers transported by river.
