BMW: long-term partnership in the circular economy

(CercleFinance.com) - BMW Group announces a long-term partnership with 'SK tes', a leading provider of innovative life-cycle technology solutions, to recycle high-voltage batteries and reintroduce the recovered cobalt, nickel and lithium back into the value chain.


This closed-loop system, already in place in China since 2022, was extended to Europe on 1 November 2024, and will be rolled out in North America by 2026.

Used batteries will be transformed into high-quality secondary raw materials using advanced mechanical and chemical processes.

This project supports BMW's strategy of promoting a circular economy and strengthening the sustainability of its supply chain.
