Rolls-Royce: partnership to expand Derby site

(CercleFinance.com) - Rolls-Royce Submarines announces the joint appointment of world-renowned engineering and development firms AtkinsRéalis and Mott MacDonald as design partners for the fissile installations, marking a key milestone in the expansion of its Raynesway site in Derby (UK).


In response to growing demand from the Royal Navy and the 2022 AUKUS agreement, Rolls-Royce plans to double the size of its Derby site.

This expansion includes new manufacturing and office facilities, as well as the creation of 1170 skilled jobs.

As the site is under nuclear license, the design and construction of the fissile installations, entrusted to the PROPEL partnership between AtkinsRéalis and Mott MacDonald, will require increased rigor for delivery in collaboration with the construction partner.
