BioMérieux: agreement to acquire SpinChip Diagnostics
(CercleFinance.com) - bioMérieux announces that it has signed an agreement to acquire SpinChip Diagnostics, a Norwegian company in which the French in vitro diagnostics specialist has held a 20% minority stake since March 2024.
SpinChip has developed a diagnostic immunoassay platform that delivers a result from a drop of blood in less than 10 minutes, with sensitivity and performance identical to laboratory tests. The reduced size of the instrument makes it particularly well-suited to performing tests at the patient's point of care. SpinChip plans to apply for CE marking under IVDR before the end of 2025. Under the terms of the agreement, bioMérieux plans to acquire the remaining share capital of SpinChip for a cash consideration of around 111 million euros.
