BASF: agreement to sell Styrodur business to BACHL
(CercleFinance.com) - BASF announces that it has signed an agreement with Karl Bachl Kunststoffverarbeitung (BACHL) for the sale of the 'Styrodur' brand and business, an extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation material.
BACHL, one of Germany's leading manufacturers of insulation materials, is an experienced producer of XPS and a long-standing distribution partner of Styrodur for BASF.
Approximately 50 employees from production, marketing and sales at BASF SE are affected by this activity, but will remain within BASF SE.
With the sale of the Styrodur business, BASF is consistently pursuing its strategy focused on expandable polystyrene, with our well-known brands Neopor and Styropor, BASF said.
The sale's completion is scheduled for mid-2025. The parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction's financial details.
