Bouygues: Colas wins contract for HS2 network
(CercleFinance.com) - Bouygues reports that its subsidiary Colas Rail UK has been selected by High Speed 2 (HS2) to design and implement the catenary systems that will supply power to high-speed trains across the HS2 network in England.
This high-speed line project, which will link London to Birmingham, will span 450 kilometres of track and offer speeds of up to 360 km/h. The contract, worth around E300m, was signed at the end of December 2024.
The catenary systems supplied by Colas will use state-of-the-art OCS V360 technology, licensed by SNCF. This system is the first in Europe to have been certified for speeds of up to 360 km/h.
