GE Vernova: commissions power plant in China
(CercleFinance.com) - GE Vernova announces that the Guangming power plant, located in the Shenzhen Guangming district of China, has started operations.
Powered by three GE Vernova 9HA.01 gas turbines, the facility will supply up to 2 GW of electricity to Guangdong province, which has a population of 127 million.
The project is in line with China's goals of achieving peak carbon emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, while accelerating the transition from coal to gas.
GE points out that its advanced technology can also burn up to 50% hydrogen mixed with natural gas, paving the way for less carbon-intensive operations.
