Syensqo: climate targets validated by SBTi

(CercleFinance.com) - Syensqo announces that its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets for 2030 have been validated by the Science Based Targets (SBTi) initiative, and announces the launch of a climate commitment program with suppliers.


By 2030, the Belgian specialty chemicals company plans to reduce its scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% compared with 2021. It is also committed to reducing its scope 3 emissions by 25% over the same period.

To achieve this, Syensqo is launching a climate commitment program with its 70 main suppliers, who account for almost 80% of the GHG emissions from its purchased raw materials, to reduce the carbon footprint of their products and operations.
