Rolls-Royce: installs 10 mtu in Egypt
(CercleFinance.com) - Rolls-Royce announces that it has commissioned ten mtu generator sets in Egypt's Beheira province, to power the Egyptian Wood Technology Company (WOTECH) factory.
Lacking access to the public grid, these generators supply 25 MW of electricity.
The plant produces MDF panels from rice straw, replacing traditional wood, and thus reducing pollution and CO2 emissions. Supported by the Ministry of Petroleum, it avoids the burning of rice straw, promoting sustainable use.
This project, the first of its kind in Africa, was carried out with local partners INDIA and EMC, and financed by Egyptian capital from the oil sector.
