USA: -10,000 new weekly jobless claims
(CercleFinance.com) - The Department of Labor announced that 201,000 people registered for unemployment benefits in the USA in the week ending December 30, down 10,000 on the previous week.
The four-week moving average - more representative of the underlying trend - came to 213,000, down 10,250 on the previous week.
Finally, the number of people receiving regular benefits rose by 33,000 to 1,867,000 in the week ending December 23, the most recent period available for this statistic.
