Mercedes-Benz: in-car entertainment service with Sony

(CercleFinance.com) - Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), IMAX Corporation, Mercedes-Benz and DTS have announced the integration of RIDEVU, SPE's in-car entertainment service, with IMAX Enhanced content in Mercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with the latest generation MBUX starting this summer.


RIDEVU offers an immersive experience, allowing passengers to enjoy films in IMAX Enhanced quality, including an expanded aspect ratio, IMAX's proprietary DMR processing and DTS:X sound.

The service will be available in six countries (USA, Canada, Japan, UK, Ireland and Germany), offering access to thousands of films for purchase, rental or streaming.

With this collaboration, Mercedes-Benz becomes the first car maker to fully integrate this system, offering passengers viewing options on up to six screens. Content can be controlled via the central screen or iOS/Android devices.
