L'Oréal: a new personalized beauty device
(CercleFinance.com) - On Monday, L'Oréal announced the launch of a compact device for personalized skin analysis, designed to appeal to consumers seeking ever more effective products.
The 'L'Oréal Cell BioPrint' device, unveiled at the CES consumer electronics show in Las Vegas, incorporates a 'lab-on-a-chip' technology developed by South Korean start-up NanoEnTek.
It involves applying an adhesive patch to the cheek, then placing it in a buffer solution, which is then loaded into the machine's cartridge for analysis.
According to L'Oréal, in just five minutes, this system enables a personalized skin analysis to be carried out using advanced proteomics, i.e. the study of the composition of proteins in the human body and their impact on aging.
L'Oréal Cell BioPrint is due to be launched with one of the cosmetics group's brands in Asia during 2025.
