GE Vernova: invests $20 million to repair HA turbines
(CercleFinance.com) - GE Vernova announces that the company will invest $20 million -with the support of Singapore's Economic Development Board- to develop advanced repair technologies for its HA gas turbines at its Advanced Manufacturing Repair Technology Center in Singapore.
This investment is part of a $60 million commitment announced in 2019 to position the center as a global leader in power generation repair and innovation.
GE points out that currently, more than a third of HA turbines are located, or on order, in Asia, where energy demand is growing rapidly.
HA turbines, capable of operating on up to 50% hydrogen, are expected to reach 100% within a decade, supporting decarbonization.
According to Ramesh Singaram, President and CEO Asia at GE Vernova Gas Power, "The HA turbines will be the first of their kind in Asia. Asia at GE Vernova Gas Power, this investment will enhance repair times and capabilities, responding to the region's growing energy needs.
