Vodafone Italia: green light from the Italian regulator

(CercleFinance.com) - Swisscom has obtained the green light from the Italian competition authority (Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato) and the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) for the acquisition of Vodafone Italia.


The Italian communications regulator has already given the go-ahead for the acquisition of Vodafone Italia.

The Italian competition authority has accepted the commitments proposed by Swisscom. These commitments include the continued provision of wholesale services to interested operators, in line with Fastweb's current practice, and the sharing of information in the context of any tender issued by the public administration for fixed telephony and connectivity services, where Fastweb or Vodafone Italia is the current incumbent provider.

The Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) has also approved the transaction, authorizing the transfer of control of Vodafone Italia, as holder of the mobile spectrum license.

Swisscom intends to finalize the transaction by the first quarter of 2025.
