Nokia: financial aid received in the USA
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia announced on Wednesday that it has received $45 million in funding from Washington as part of a government program designed to promote innovation in the mobile technology sector.
In a press release, the Finnish telecom equipment manufacturer explains that it intends to use the funds to strengthen its research and development (R&D) investments in the United States, particularly in Open Radio Access Networks (Open RAN).
The group, which recalls the long-standing commitment to innovation of its American subsidiary Nokia Bell Labs, points out that the funding has been allocated by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) as part of the Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund, which has been allocated a budget of $1.5 billion over ten years.
