Boeing: successful launch of O3b mPOWER satellites

(CercleFinance.com) - Boeing announces that the two new O3b mPOWER satellites, billed as 'the most advanced ever built by Boeing', are sending and receiving signals in space.


Launched from Kennedy Space Center, Florida, the satellites, separated from the SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle, join the first six O3b mPOWER satellites to enhance SES' broadband connectivity worldwide.

Boeing will supervise the satellites during in-orbit testing before handing them over to SES in around four months' time.

These satellites, with more than 5,000 digital beams, can meet dynamic, high-density demand in a variety of environments, opening up new possibilities for SES users.
