Visa: blocked nearly 85% of suspected CyberMonday frauds

(CercleFinance.com) - Visa blocked almost 85% more suspected fraud worldwide than last year during Cyber Monday.


Throughout the holiday weekend, transactions suspected of being fraudulent increased by 200% worldwide, thanks in part to fraudsters' adoption of AI.

Over the past five years, Visa has invested $11 billion in cutting-edge technologies to combat fraud.

' While fraudsters are increasingly using AI, we are too. And it's paying off,' said Paul Fabara, Visa's director of risk and customer services.

' As we saw when the holiday shopping season kicked off, Visa continues to thwart further fraud attempts by these bad actors, continuing our mission to be the safest way to pay and get paid for everyone, everywhere. '
