Mercedes-Benz: updated automated driving system
(CercleFinance.com) - Mercedes-Benz announces that it has updated Drive Pilot, its conditional automated driving system, which has received approval from the German Federal Transport Authority.
This system, which will be available in Germany in early 2025, becomes the fastest certified for automated driving (SAE-Level 3) in a standard production vehicle.
It will be offered as an option on the S-Class and EQS luxury car ranges, and with a free upgrade for vehicles already in production.
The system will enable automated driving at speeds of up to 95 km/h on the German motorway network, giving drivers the opportunity to devote themselves to other activities while the car takes over the driving.
The automaker adds that it is continuing to work on improvements, aiming for 'higher speeds and more comfort'.
