BAE Systems: 'major' breakthrough in AUKUS program

(CercleFinance.com) - BAE Systems has announced a major breakthrough for the Australian and British governments in the delivery of the AUKUS fleet of nuclear-powered, conventionally armed SSN submarines for the Royal Australian Navy.


The Australian Submarine Agency (ASA), BAE Systems and ASC Pty Ltd (Australian Submarine Corporation) have signed a 'Tasking Statement', an agreement which governs the development of the construction strategy, supply chain management and training of future workers.

This program will create thousands of skilled jobs and ensure the construction of a sovereign fleet in Australia.

The work includes defining the delivery schedule, designing the infrastructure in Osborne (Adelaide), and transferring information between the UK, the US and Australia.
