BAE Systems: joint venture for tomorrow's combat aircraft

(CercleFinance.com) - BAE Systems (UK), Leonardo (Italy) and Japan Aircraft Industrial Enhancement Co Ltd (JAIEC) announce the creation of a joint venture as part of the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), subject to regulatory approvals.


This joint venture will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of the next generation of combat aircraft, with a role as design authority until 2070.

Each partner will hold an equal 33.3% stake, consolidating a trilateral collaboration between the UK, Japan and Italy launched in December 2022.

This initiative represents a major step forward for the international aerospace and defense industry.
