TotalEnergies: sells 50% stake in West Burton Energy
(CercleFinance.com) - TotalEnergies announces the sale to EPUKI, the UK subsidiary of EPH, of 50% of its shares in West Burton Energy, a company that it acquired (100%) in June 2024 with the announced intention of selling back half.
West Burton Energy owns a 1.3 GW gas-fired combined cycle power station and a 49 MW battery storage system in the UK.
The plant will be operated by the joint venture between TotalEnergies and EPUKI.
With this transaction, we adjust our net flexible generation capacity to 700 MW, which is consistent with the capacity required to support our growth in renewables in the UK, TotalEnergies said.
This integration between our flexible and renewable assets will contribute to our aim of achieving 12% profitability by 2030 in our Integrated Power business, she added.
