Carbios: Stifel begins to monitor as a buyer

(CercleFinance.com) - Stifel announced on Tuesday that it has begun to monitor Carbios shares, with a Buy recommendation and a target price of E19 (cp: E8.
4, -5%).

The broker says that the greentech company's share price has plummeted by some 70% since last October, against a backdrop of questions about the financing and construction schedule for its plant.

For its part, Stifel believes that financing for the project should be approved in the first quarter of 2025, offering significant upside potential for the stock.

Not only is the plant scheduled to come on stream in mid-2026, he continues, but Carbios is also about to commercialise its proprietary PET plastic recycling technology in the form of royalty-generating licenses.

Noting that Carbios has set itself the target of becoming cash flow positive by 2027, the analyst believes that this asset-light business model could generate recurring revenues, while pointing out that the company is backed by several prestigious industrial players such as L'Oréal, Michelin and L'Occitane.
