Michelin: agreement with Brembo to improve braking performance

(CercleFinance.com) - Michelin announces an agreement with Brembo to revolutionize braking systems by developing intelligent solutions combining algorithms, know-how and expertise related to brakes and tire physics, with initial tests 'extremely encouraging'.


Tests have shown that, with identical tyre equipment, braking distance can be reduced by up to four metres in emergency situations under a variety of conditions, tyre manufacturer says.

The braking system developed reduces reaction time, minimizes loss of traction, improves lateral stability and prevents wheel lock-up. Together, these improvements ensure a smoother, more comfortable ride, it adds.
