Alstom: design award for the MF19, the future Paris metro
(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom, alongside Île-de-France Mobilités, RATP and the Avant-Première design agency, has been awarded the Janus de l'Industrie label by the Institut Français du Design for the MF19, the new-generation metro.
This label rewards and enhances the collective work carried out over the last five years on the design of the MF19 metro, a modular train designed to 'meet the challenges of tomorrow and the needs of today'.
Alstom specifies that eight metro lines operated by the RATP (3, 3bis, 7, 7bis, 8, 10, 12 and 13) will benefit from these new trains, which will replace three generations of metros, the MF67, MF77 and MF88.
Their arrival, scheduled for the end of 2025 on line 10, is part of a general policy to accelerate the modernization of the metro network, as called for by the organizing authority.
This policy has led to unprecedented investments of almost 10 billion euros between now and 2035.
