Veolia: EU approves acquisition of Uniper Hungary
(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of sole control of Hungary-based Uniper Hungary Energetikai by France-based Veolia Environnement.
The transaction mainly concerns the provision of electricity system balancing services in Hungary.
The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given its limited impact on competition in the markets where the companies are active.
The notified transaction was examined under the normal merger control procedure.
