Schneider: contributed to the restoration of Notre-Dame
(CercleFinance.com) - Schneider Electric has contributed to the restoration of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, which reopened today.
The work has made it possible to secure and monitor the site's electrical installation.
' For Schneider Electric, it's a matter of course to get involved in actions of this type for emblematic and prestigious sites, as we have done in the past for the Comédie Française or the Antarctic station,' stresses Gilles Vermot-Desroches, Schneider Electric's Director of Citizenship and Institutional Affairs.
Schneider Electric contributed its expertise, products and solutions through a sponsorship agreement. The Group supplied all the equipment needed to power the site and ensure its security (20 kV HTA cells, 20 kV/410V 1250kVA transformer, general and divisional switchboards, inverters, emergency lighting, switchgear, etc.), as well as the tools required for building management, which monitors network operation and controls consumption (PLCs, sensors, controllers, communication bus, etc.)....).
In addition to supplying the equipment, Schneider Electric also provides part of the electrical distribution maintenance, as well as engineering, design, commissioning and programming of the installed systems, and training for future users.
The project team chose cutting-edge solutions for fire surveillance. Additional reinforced protection and fire prevention blocks (Acti9 Active AFDD) for the socket circuits and cable overheating sensors (HeatTag) in all the electrical cabinets.
These two innovations enable continuous monitoring of the smooth running of the installation, and send alerts in the event of deterioration even before a problem occurs.
