Solvay: inaugurates a biodigester in Juarez, Mexico
(CercleFinance.com) - Solvay announces the inauguration of an advanced biodigester at its production site in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
This energy transition project generates biomethane from locally processed organic waste, replacing part of the natural gas needed to power the site's boiler and furnace.
Developed by Franco y Asociados, the initiative will reduce the site's CO2 emissions by 12% compared with 2021.
'This project illustrates the possibility of making a successful transition to cleaner energy sources through determination and voluntary commitment', says the company.
As a reminder, Solvay aims to reduce global emissions by 30% by 2030.
