Rémy Cointreau: Deutsche Bank downgrades to sell
(CercleFinance.com) - Deutsche Bank announced on Wednesday that it had downgraded its recommendation on Rémy Cointreau shares, from 'hold' to 'sell', with a price target reduced from 61 to 45 euros.
After a difficult 2024 for the beverage sector, the analyst believes that the market consensus is still too ambitious for 2025, and advises investors to be selective about the sector in general, and cautious about spirits in particular.
From his point of view, the threat of new tariffs in the USA and China poses risks for specialists in the sector, not to mention the turbulence that could result in terms of currencies.
In addition, the trend towards premiumization is taking a breather, notes the intermediary, a phenomenon that is evident in the USA given the downmarket trend that is taking place in the country.
Within the sector, Rémy Cointreau is one of Deutsche Bank's two least favorite stocks, alongside Diageo.
