Rémy Cointreau: Deutsche Bank downgrades to sell
(CercleFinance.com) - Deutsche Bank announced on Wednesday that it had downgraded Rémy Cointreau shares from 'hold' to 'sell', with a target price reduced from E61 to E45 (cp: E58, -1.
8%).
After a difficult 2024 for the beverage sector, the analyst believes that the market consensus is still too ambitious for 2025, and re commends investors be selective about the sector in general, and cautious about spirits in particular.
It adds that the threat of new tariffs in the US and China poses risks for specialists in the sector, not to mention the turbulence that could result in currencies.
In addition, the trend towards premiumization is taking a breather, DB notes, a phenomenon that is evident in the US, given the downmarket trend that is taking place in the country.
Within the sector, Rémy Cointreau is one of Deutsche Bank's worst picks - as is Diageo.
