Nokia: 25G and 50G connections achieved in Florida

(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia announced on Tuesday that it had successfully tested the deployment of its 25G and 50G technologies on the existing network of Hotwire Communications, a US fiber-optic specialist.


Hotwire, which provides high-speed connection services to homes and businesses, was able to achieve connection speeds of up to 25 and 50 Gbps during tests carried out on its active network in Florida, the Finnish equipment supplier said.

Hotwire thus joins a list of American suppliers who have already achieved such performance, starting with Google.

These deployments were based on Nokia's PON technology, which enables speeds around 200 times faster than on the most advanced broadband networks of 10 years ago.
