Cegedim: strategic partnership in RFID

(CercleFinance.com) - Cegedim announced on Tuesday the signature of a strategic partnership with Promedeo, a specialist in RFID technologies, with the aim of offering an inventory management and traceability solution to healthcare establishments.


The business software designer explains that it will integrate RFID identifiers within the digital shipping messages (EDI) for medical devices sent by manufacturers and distributors, to enable automated and secure inventory management.

The shipping message will include the medical device identifier, batch and serial number, expiration date and RFID tag.

By integrating Promedeo's connected equipment, Cegedim says it wants to lighten the load on caregivers, by making inventories up to 10 times faster than with conventional methods.

Medical devices can thus be received at the pharmacy with a mobile reader, ensuring continuous traceability right through to their use with patients.
