BT: £1.29bn contract with the UK Home Office
(CercleFinance.com) - BT Group announces that it has signed a £1.
29 billion contract with the UK Home Office to provide mobile services for the National Emergency Services Network (ESN) for the next seven years.
This critical system provides priority communications for frontline responders, enabling fast and secure access to vital data via the 4G network, including in rural areas or during network overload.
Initially entrusted to EE in 2015, this mission now includes the management of specific services, such as Air-to-Ground networks and those in road and rail tunnels.
The new contract provides for extended coverage and the deployment of large-scale indoor solutions to meet public safety requirements.
