Siemens: acquisition in fire-fighting sector

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens announced Monday that it has acquisired the fire-fighting systems business of Danish energy group Danfoss.


The entity will be integrated into its Siemens Smart Infrastructure division, which specialises in smart infrastructures for energy, buildings and industrial sites.

Siemens says that the acquisition will enable it to strengthen its offering in high-pressure water mist equipment, which uses micro-droplets, and in low-pressure CO2 equipment.

Siemens first announced the operation last October, following Danfoss's decision to consider its subsidiary, renamed SEM-SAFE Fire Safety A/S, as a 'non-strategic' asset.
