Enel: E-Distribuzion gets E250m loan from EIB

(CercleFinance.com) - E-Distribuzione, an Enel Group company, and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have signed the first E250m tranche of a Sustainability-Linked loan, part of an agreement totaling E500m.


The loan is conditional on direct greenhouse gas emission targets (125g CO2eq/kWh in 2026 and 72g CO2eq/kWh in 2030) and the alignment of at least 80% of investments with the European taxonomy between 2024 and 2026.

This funding will support innovation and digitization of the Italian power grid, improving its resilience to extreme weather events and the quality of distribution service.

Enel CFO Stefano De Angelis stressed the importance of networks in accelerating the energy transition, in line with the group's 2025-2027 strategic plan.
