Vallourec: receives ISCC certification in South America
(CercleFinance.com) - Vallourec's forestry unit in South America has announced that it has obtained ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) certification for the production of bio-oil from renewable eucalyptus forests.
This is Carboval bio-oil, produced using our continuous carbonization process, which is used to manufacture biomass charcoal without methane emissions', says the group.
Carboval bio-oil is distinguished by its unique characteristics in terms of calorific value (PCI), viscosity and physical and chemical attributes, which make it an excellent substitute for fossil fuels.
Validated for use in hot gas generators, boilers, industrial oil burners and briquette manufacture, it can also be used as a feedstock for refining processes such as fluid catalytic cracking (FCC), to produce fuels and materials for the petrochemical industry.
"This ISCC Plus certification marks a key milestone and reinforces our commitment to decarbonization, by offering sustainable and innovative solutions that contribute to making energy transformation a reality" says the group.
