Kone: modernization project at Dammam airport
(CercleFinance.com) - Finland's Kone announced on Wednesday that it had won a contract to modernize facilities at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
The group said it had been commissioned to replace 30 MonoSpace elevators, update 31 escalators and 14 EcoMod moving walkways, and install 11 new MonoSpace elevators.
The equipment is scheduled for delivery by the end of 2025.
This project comes at a time when Dammam International Airport, whose traffic climbed by over 16% last year, now handles some 11.4 million passengers a year.
