Toyota: exceeds 5m vehicles made at Onnaing

(CercleFinance.com) - Toyota Motor Manufacturing France (TMMF) today celebrated the milestone of 5 million vehicles produced at its plant in Onnaing (59).


The 5 millionth Yaris is a Yaris Cross, specially dressed by teams in the paint shop thanks to an original creation by Toyota's European design center, based in Sophia Antipolis (06).

On this occasion, TMMF announced the signing of 600 permanent contracts, including 100 by the end of the year.

The commercial success of the Yaris and Yaris Cross has enabled us to secure jobs within the company. The 1,000 employees currently on fixed-term or temporary contracts will be the source of this permanent recruitment, the group says.

This event marks a real feat, with such a volume achieved in less than 24 years, and sets a new record. It testifies to the site's ongoing commitment to meeting the expectations of the European market with the quality for which the Toyota brand is renowned, TMMF said.
