Nokia: signs deal with Deutsche Telekom
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia has announced that Deutsche Telekom AG (DT) has awarded it more than 3,000 sites to support the development of the operator's multi-vendor Open RAN network in Germany.
This new agreement officially marks Nokia's return as a supplier to Europe's largest network, and will see Nokia replace the incumbent supplier in the area covered by the agreement.
Nokia will supply equipment from its O-RAN-compliant 5G AirScale portfolio, powered by its energy-efficient ReefShark System-on-Chip technology, including high-capacity modular baseband solutions and high-performance Habrok Massive MIMO radios.
Nokia will also deploy its AI-based MantaRay NM intelligent solution to improve network monitoring and management, and provide AI-based services.
Deutsche Telekom said that the network performance in the area already implemented offers the best customer experience. And now, together with Nokia, we look forward to developing Open RAN in Germany. '
Meanwhile Nokia said that this is an important agreement for Nokia, as we have been selected by Europe's largest network operator to extend our partnership.
