Neoen: renewable energy contract with Equinix
(CercleFinance.com) - Neoen and Equinix, world leader in digital infrastructures, have signed a 53 MW 10-year virtual power purchase agreement (PPA).
This contract will cover 100% of the electricity needs of Equinix's IBX® data centers in Italy with renewable energies, reinforcing its support for renewable energy projects.
The PPA covers seven Neoen solar projects located in northern Italy, close to Equinix's data centers in Milan and Genoa. These solar projects will contribute to the 2030 objectives of Italy's National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP).
This is the first PPA signed between Neoen and Equinix in Italy, and their fifth in Europe in the last three years. These five contracts represent a total contracted capacity of 210 MW, divided between Finland, Sweden and now Italy.
This PPA brings Neoen's contracted capacity via corporate PPAs to a total of over 2.8 GW worldwide, and brings Equinix's long-term renewable energy contracts to around 1.4 GW.
